Round Table on Religion & Water (online)

As follow up to the Amsterdam Agreement ‘values-based action’ (AIWW 2019), AIWW continues the critical conversations on the role of religion in water and climate challenges. What can religious principles and values contribute to our approach to tackling water challenges around the world? How are religious leaders and communities currently contributing to managing water in times of climate change and what potential contributions can they make to managing water crises? Team members from our Nuffic Training Partnership in Cape Town join the discussions.

From Waste to a Reuse (online)

AquaMinerals and Waternet introduce the topic of improved resource recovery. The goal is to clarify the steps that a wastewater treatment plant has to take to produce a safe resource from its effluent. The Struvite Case () in the Netherlands showed the difficulty of the process. Licensing is challenging and a uniform process is desired. This session deepens the topic through presentations of case studies in the Netherlands, France en Germany and a panel discussion by various organizations that are connected to the wastewater sector. Strategic Advisor at Waternet will participate in this session, as well as representatives from Waternet’s knowledge partner PUB Singapore.

Social Inclusion in Water Management and Climate Adaptation (online)

Social inclusion is a key dimension in water management and climate adaptation. It contributes to more sustainable and equitable water solutions for both people and ecosystems. However, in practice, it is not always easy to conduct inclusive processes. There is still much to learn and improve when it comes to social inclusion in the water sector. This session we dive deeper into the theme of social inclusion in water management and climate adaptation. Our YEP expert Hadi Toure will present the case of social inclusion at our Malian partner SOMAGEP SA.
