We proudly present our new CEO

02 April 2020

We are very proud to announce the new CEO of World Waternet: Frodo van Oostveen. He will join our team on 1 May 2020. He succeeds Steven van Rossum who has led World Waternet for four years.

Connecting ideas, people, initiatives and businesses to develop concrete solutions for sustainable water management around the globe. That is the ambition of our new CEO Frodo van Oostveen. Frodo has a broad experience in sustainable business development in the international water sector. Last year Frodo returned from Asia where he worked and lived for five years in Singapore and Myanmar. In Asia he co-founded The Water Agency, an organisation that runs water hubs in Asia Pacific to unite organisations in tackling the region's most pressing water challenges.

He was the Chairman of the Singapore Netherlands Water House, a platform for networking, communication and cooperation amongst the Dutch water sector in Singapore. Prior to that, Frodo was responsible for multi-stakeholder partnerships focused on the effective monitoring of agriculture and water, sanitation & hygiene programs in Africa and South East Asia at Akvo.org. Furthermore, he founded the social enterprise Crazy About Water, dedicated to empowering people who are passionate, curious and eager to learn about water.

Frodo recently worked on strengthening Public-Private water partnerships in Asia as Regional Manager for the Netherlands Water Partnership. He translated market intelligence into concrete business opportunities for the Dutch Water Sector.

Frodo has an MBA from Radboud University Nijmegen and a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Commercial Economics from Tilburg University. In addition, he graduated from the Singapore Management University (Master of Tri-Sector Collaboration) where he learned how to empower emerging leaders from businesses, governments and civil society to work together to develop sustainable solutions to the world’s big challenges.

With Frodo’s appointment, World Waternet found a passionate leader with an extensive international network and wide experience in sustainable development, with whom we can continue our mission to improve the performance in water cycle management within our peer-to-peer partnerships, and work towards sustainable water services for all.
