Find us at SIWI World Water Week 2021

17 August 2021

World Water Week 2021 will take place 23-27 August under the theme Building Resilience Faster. It will be held entirely online, in a digital format designed to ensure that people across the world can collaborate to find solutions to the world’s greatest water-related challenges. We are participating in several sessions to intensify exchange and collaboration on topics related to our Water Operators' Partnerships and the Sarphati Sanitation Challenge pitch-event. Find out where we contribute and do not hesitate to reach out to us!

Sarphati Sanitation Challenge: seeking innovators in Sanitation Entrepreneurship

Meet the 10 semi-finalists during the special pitch-event of the Sarphati Sanitation Challenge. This challenge supports promising market-based sanitation solutions on their path to scale. It was an open call to entrepreneurs with a viable, scalable and locally-embedded sanitation solution to apply, in order to accelerate access to safe sanitation for all. The winner will be announced at the Amsterdam International Water Week in November 2021 ().

Youth engagement: Why it matters and how to do it

The session aims to challenge perceptions among water sector stakeholders of what youth engagement means and how it can be put into practice. The Youth Engagement Action Plan – a multi-stakeholder initiative for engaging more young people in the water-related issues that affect them – will be formally launched.

Nature-based Solutions for Water Supply Utilities: Lessons in Project Preparation

This session will highlight experiences from water sector actors in planning projects that incorporate Nature-based Solutions to enhance service delivery and increase resilience across the project cycle: from national planning processes to early discussions with water utility clients and project appraisal.

Closing Plenary

This session will summarize the week and its achievements, presenting concrete recommendations, and connecting it to other global processes, showing how these recommendations can be taken forward.
